Written by the foremost Chinese furniture historian and collector, Wang Shixiang, this book provides beautiful color plates of many important pieces in Chinese collections and discusses their woods, joinery, decoration, and the development of their forms.  A glossary collects and defines the numerous terms used in old texts and by cabinetmakers.  The book’s publication in both Chinese and English had a great impact on scholars, collectors, and the market.
